Mukasiri Sibanda is a social and economic justice activist, and researcher and blogger on mineral resource governance issues. He is currently an Advisor on Tax & Natural Resource Governance with Tax Justice Network Africa. Sibanda previously worked with the Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association (ZELA) for 7 years as an economic governance officer, and 2 years as a finance officer. His work on mineral resource governance is deeply immersed in issues of transparency and accountability in the management of mineral revenues. Other areas of special interest include artisanal and small-scale mining, and working with communities to advocate for the change they wish to see in the management of mineral resources. Through his blog, Mukasiri has written over 130 articles since 2015 covering topical issues on mineral resource governance in Zimbabwe. His blog is widely republished in Zimbabwe’s mainstream newspapers. He is an active participant on twitter, with approximately 10,000 followers.
